Mysterious Ford “Phoenix” and “Hummingbird” Spotted in NAIAS Plans

Sneaky satellite images have given web experts an inside scoop as to what vehicles major auto companies might be bringing to the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit this week, including a peak at Ford’s displays.

Courtesy of Jalopnik – we’ve heard word of two mysterious Ford performance vehicles, one being referred to as “Phoenix” and one as “Hummingbird.” So far, Ford hasn’t officially mentioned either term in conjunction with a new vehicle, so we’re assuming that the Ford Phoenix and Hummingbird are just codes names.

But what vehicles could these code-names be referring to? Perhaps the Phoenix could be a cover-up for a new Ford GT, utilizing the classic symbolism of a phoenix, “rising out of the ashes” from the previous model.

Other rumors indicate that the Hummingbird might be the fake name of the new Ford Shelby GT350, but that’s mostly just speculation. Or could we be in store for a special GT350 such as the GT350R?
