A Helping Hand during the Holidays: The Ford Volunteer Corps Project

The Ford Volunteer Corps was able to celebrate Ford Accelerated Action Day by packaging and delivering food for the needy. As part of Ford’s philanthropic effort during the holiday season, the Volunteer Corps has managed to man soup kitchens, food banks, shelters, and care centers across the country.

According to Ford, for this project it has donated $91,000 specifically for supplies, which is all part of a larger $1.3 million in financial support for vehicles and other assistance for hunger relief this winter. Here at Pegues Hurst Ford we’re always moved by how charitable Ford is with their projects this time of year.

The Ford Volunteer Corps project has succeeded in gathering thousands of volunteers for these projects. “We know that finding enough to eat is a daily struggle for thousands in our community,” said Janet Lawson, director, Ford Volunteer Corps. “Through our volunteer efforts and nonprofit partnerships, our fleet of Ford Mobile Food Pantries and the generous donations of so many, we hope to ease that struggle not just over the holidays but throughout the year.”

Donations went to organizations like the Salvation Army’s Bed & Bread Club and a text-to-donate campaign with Quick Lane Tire & Auto Center, Ford and Feeding America®. If you want to donate $10 to the campaign simply text “MEAL” to 50555.The Ford Transit is the perfect car for the Ford Volunteer Corps Project
